Now You're Listed, What's Next?
Once you are listed as a kidney transplant candidate, you will be placed on the National Organ transplant waitlist managed by the United Network for Organ
What Happens After the Evaluations?
After completing your medical and psychosocial evaluations, the transplant treatment team will determine if you are an appropriate candidate for kidney transplant.
Get Evaluated - The referral process can happen in two ways
If you have not started dialysis, you can be referred to transplant centers by your nephrologist.
What to Expect

While kidney transplant is a surgery that enhance a person’s quality of life, studies have shown that a person’s mental health can be impacted in a positive and or negative way pre and post transplant
If a person has been clinically diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis or has symptoms of a mental health diagnosis preparation for kidney transplant or adaptation to life post transplant can trigger emotions that can impact their mental health
